This means that you can make manual adjustments once the AF has finished, without changing to manual mode. For landscape, I like my Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is a little faster than the Canon EF-S 10-18 mm f/4,5-5,6 IS STM and it seems to be cheaper now than a few years ago when I bought it, but still more expensive.
